About Edwardsville
Edwardsville is a city in Madison County, Illinois, with a population of about 26,500. Settled in 1805 and incorporated in 1818, it was named after Ninian Edwards, the territorial governor of Illinois. The city played a key role in Central Illinois settlement as the starting point of the Edwards Trace trail.
