About O'Fallon
O'Fallon is a city in St. Clair County, Illinois, located about 16 miles east of St. Louis, Missouri. Founded in 1854 and named after Colonel John O'Fallon, it grew around a Baltimore and Ohio Railroad depot that attracted German settlers. The city was incorporated in 1874 and expanded significantly in the 1980s and 1990s with the development of Interstate 64. O'Fallon is known for its proximity to Scott Air Force Base and its coal mining history. Visitors can reach O'Fallon via Interstate 64 or U.S. Route 50, with easy access to St. Louis.
