About Paducah
Paducah is a city in McCracken County, Kentucky, with a population of about 26,894. Settled around 1821 and incorporated in 1838, it was named after the Padouca people. Located where the Tennessee and Ohio rivers meet, Paducah developed as a key river and rail transportation hub. It played an important role during the Civil War as a Union supply depot and experienced a major flood in 1937, leading to the construction of a flood wall.
