Nashville is a small town in Washington County, Illinois, with a population of just under 3,000. It was first laid out in 1830 as New Nashville and became known simply as Nashville when its post office opened in 1831. The town covers about 2.8 square miles and sits near the headwaters of Little Crooked Creek and Beaucoup Creek. Nashville is the county seat and is known for its automobile parts manufacturing, with major employers like Nascote Industries and Grupo Antolin. It is located roughly 48 miles from St. Louis, making it accessible by road from the city.
