About Paducah
Paducah is a city in McCracken County, Kentucky, with a population of about 26,894. It sits where the Tennessee and Ohio rivers meet, covering roughly 20 square miles. Settled around 1821 and incorporated in 1838, Paducah was named after the Comanche people called the Padoucas. The city grew as an important river and rail transportation hub, with steamboat industries and a major Illinois Central Railroad workshop.
