About Louisville
Louisville is a city in Jefferson County, Kentucky, located on the Indiana state line along the Ohio River. Founded in 1778 by George Rogers Clark near the Falls of the Ohio, it grew as an important portage site. Louisville was named after King Louis XVI of France and became an incorporated city in 1828.
