About Louisville
Louisville is a city in Jefferson County, Kentucky, founded in 1778 by George Rogers Clark near the Falls of the Ohio River. It was named after King Louis XVI of France and became an incorporated city in 1828. Louisville played a significant role during the Civil War as a Union stronghold and later saw political influence from Confederate veterans.
