Farmington Historic Home in Louisville, KY, is a historic house museum offering tours, educational programming, preservation directives, and community partnerships. Established as a plantation in 1809, the main house was completed in 1816 and is tied to the Speed family. John Speed operated Farmington as a hemp farm until 1840. After several ownership changes, including the Bischoff family farming potatoes until the 1940s, the property was preserved by Porter and Violet Smith. The Historic Homes Foundation restored Farmington, opening it to the public in 1959. The site highlights its agricultural and architectural history through various programs.
