About Olney
Olney is a small town in Richland County, Illinois, with a population of about 8,864. Olney became the county seat due to its central location and land donation. The town is known for its unique albino grey squirrel population and its residents’ significant military service during the Civil War and both World Wars. Covering roughly 6.66 square miles, Olney is accessible by road, though no specific highways or rail services are noted.
