About O'Fallon
O'Fallon is a city in St. Clair County, Illinois, located about 16 miles east of St. Louis, Missouri. Founded in 1854 and named after Colonel John O'Fallon, the city grew around a Baltimore and Ohio Railroad depot that attracted German settlers. Incorporated as a village in 1874, O'Fallon expanded significantly in the 1980s and 1990s with the growth of Interstate 64. The city covers roughly 14.5 square miles and is part of the Metro East region. Known for its proximity to Scott Air Force Base and a long history of coal mining, O'Fallon also hosts the largest Veterans Day parade in the area. Visitors can reach the city via Interstate 64 or U.S. Route 50, making it easily accessible from St. Louis.
